What happens in a  ADHD assessment?

At Pure Neuro, our specialist clinicians take the time to understand you or your child's unique experiences, strengths, and challenges. Through a comprehensive assessment process, we explore whether ADHD may be contributing to difficulties with attention, concentration, organisation, impulsivity, or emotional regulation.

The assessment is designed to build a clear understanding of an individual's neurodevelopmental profile, helping to determine whether ADHD is present and identify the most appropriate recommendations and support moving forward.

Step 1: Initial Screening

Our initial screening process helps identify whether ADHD may be contributing to you or your child's experiences. Using recognised screening tools and clinical expertise, we gather information to develop an early understanding of potential ADHD characteristics.
If the screening indicates that ADHD may be present, we will recommend progressing to a comprehensive diagnostic assessment.

Step 2: Information Gathering

To build a complete picture, we gather information from a range of relevant sources. This may include developmental history, questionnaires, and insights from parents, partners, teachers, or others who know the individual well.

By understanding how ADHD characteristics present across different environments, our clinicians can gain a clearer understanding of their impact on daily life and determine the most appropriate assessment pathway.

Step 3: Assessments

Your assessment will be carried out by an experienced clinician with expertise in ADHD. During the appointment, we explore developmental history, current experiences, strengths, challenges, and how ADHD characteristics may impact different areas of daily life.

Using information gathered throughout the assessment process, our clinicians evaluate findings against recognised diagnostic criteria. Following assessment, outcomes are discussed alongside personalised recommendations, support options, and next steps where appropriate.

Step 4: Diagnostic Report

Following assessment, you will receive a comprehensive report outlining the assessment findings, diagnostic outcomes, individual strengths, and recommendations for support.

Written in a clear and easy-to-understand format, the report can be shared with schools, employers, healthcare professionals, and other support services where appropriate, helping to inform future planning and access to support.

Step 5: Support & Next Steps

If ADHD is identified, we will discuss appropriate support options and recommendations tailored to the individual's needs. This may include educational support, workplace adjustments, behavioural strategies, or signposting to relevant services.

Our aim is to help individuals and families move forward with greater understanding, confidence, and access to the support they need to thrive.
